HISTORY

Before there was The Arbor, there was Brown Way Graded School. Brown Way was opened in the early 1920s and was a network of Rural Graded Schools serving localized farming communities. Brown Way operated until the mid 1950-60s when many small schools were consolidated in an effort to desegregate and centralize modernizing education.

After the school closed, the building found new life as Martin Grocery. It was in operation from the early 1970s until the late 1990s. The family-run local grocery store was owned and operated by Mrs. Faye Martin.

Before we had the building, Arbor Ministries began in the front yard during COVID. We moved into our building in 2021 and have been making improvements to keep up with our growth since.
